23 killed in Homs: Syria activists

At least eight civilians and 15 soldiers were killed on Wednesday during fierce fighting in the central Syrian city of Homs, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said on Wednesday.

"At least eight civilians were killed by the Syrian armed forces in several neighbourhoods of Homs," the Britain-based monitoring group said.

It added that the soldiers were killed during fighting with rebel troops in the Bustan al-Diwan sector of the city.
