At Least 15 Deaths Attributed to Winter Storm in USA

At least 15 deaths have been attributed to the major winter storm moving across the country over the past few days, officials said.

In Kentucky, at least three people died as a result of the storm by late Friday morning, according to Gov. Andy Beshear.

According to CNN, the storm also caused power outages in 1.7 million homes and shops across the country.

The storm led to the suspension of flights and the empty roads of travelers, amid a significant drop in temperatures, according to Bloomberg News today, Saturday.

As of this morning, flight-tracking platform FlightAware showed more than 2,300 delays or cancellations of domestic and foreign flights in the United States. Boston, Detroit, Newark and New Jersey airports were hardest hit by the storm.

The National Weather Service reported that warnings of a form of winter weather affected more than 200 million Americans on Friday.
