Earthquake hits off Papua New Guinea
An earthquake measuring 6.5 magnitude on the Richter scale hit 32 km northwest of Kandrian in Papua New Guinea on Monday.
According to the US Geological Survey, USGS, the quake struck the tropical island nation at a depth of 28 km.
There are no immediate reports of damage, and there was no Pacific-wide tsunami threat from the quake.
