Thirty people died and another 28 were injured in two traffic accidents in northern Egypt on Tuesday, security officials said.
In the worst incident, 20 people were killed and four others hurt when a truck carrying sand hit a car and a minibus on a road in Al-Sharqiya province, north of the capital.
In the same province, 10 people were killed and another 24 hurt when a van hit a truck carrying bottled gas.

Traffic accidents occur frequently in Egypt, often because of poor road conditions and lax regulations.
The government estimates that there are 8,000 road accidents a year.
