Pipe repairer accused of trying to rape maid

An Asian pipe repairer is on trial in Abu Dhabi on charges of trying to rape a housemaid at her employer’s home while he was fixing a water pipe.

The Asian maid told court that she had just got out of her room and headed to the kitchen when the man grabbed her arm and tried touch her inappropriately.

She said that she screamed and fled to her room, forcing the technician to leave the house. Newspapers said the defendant denied all charges, prompting the judge to postpone sentence to June 24.
