US drone strike kills four in Pakistan: officials

A US drone strike destroyed a vehicle in Pakistan's Taliban stronghold of North Waziristan on the Afghan border on Monday, killing four militants, local officials said.

The attack took place in Mir Ali town, some 30 kilometres (20 miles) east of Miranshah, the main town of North Waziristan tribal district.

"A US drone fired two missiles which hit a vehicle. At least four militants have been killed," one security official in Peshawar told AFP.

An intelligence official in Miranshah confirmed the incident and toll and said the number of those killed may rise.
