A former senior employee at a US military contractor was sentenced on Tuesday to more than three years in prison for conspiring to bribe US army officials in Kuwait, the Justice Department said.
Dorothy Ellis, 53, of Texas City, was sentenced to 37 months in prison for taking part in a plot to pay $360,000 in bribes to contracting officials at a US base there, the Justice Department said in a statement.
Ellis pleaded guilty in US District Court for the Southern District of Texas on September 2 to one count of conspiracy to bribe public officials.
Her case stemmed from a corruption probe focusing on Camp Arifjan, a US military base in Kuwait that supports operations in Iraq, the statement said.
Sixteen people, including Ellis, have been charged, of whom 14 have pleaded guilty, it said.
