Millionaire undone by prostitute lies

(AGENCY)

A millionaire husband's secret life has been exposed during his messy divorce proceedings in the court, reports The Daily Telegraph.

He told the court he had never used prostitutes but his wife discovered that a cheque butt altered to look as if it was for farm expenses had really been used to pay a prostitute.

He told his business associates that he had been in the army and was shot. Put on the spot in the witness box, he admitted that he had never been in the army, the daily said.

And he told his local council, which was responsible for his farm, that he was a qualified engineering survey who had been trained in the army. It was another lie. He had been a truck driver and real estate agent.

Technology against cheating

Education authorities in Mississippi have put the old adage “pick a thorn with a thorn” to good use by outwitting students who cheat in exams through messages with technology itself.

The problem being so common these days, with students everywhere having access to mobile phones, Mississippi found the digital technology being rampantly misused to text the answers to each other, reports New York Times.

With more than 100,000 students tested at the exams, it wasn’t always easy for proctors to keep an eye on every one.

There came in technology.
The state called in Caveon Test Security in 2006. It analyzes answer sheets by computer and flags those with similar answers to the same questions – right or wrong.

Since then cheating by using text messages have dropped by 70 per cent.

An autistic schoolboy has been granted court approval to begin treatment to become a woman - on the proviso the teenager has his sperm frozen in case he wants to have children in the future, reports The Courier Mail.

After an emergency application by his parents in the Court, the judge backed the wishes of the 16-year-old to begin drug treatment before puberty fully takes hold.

The judge told the boy who suffers from mild Asperger's syndrome that he was mature enough to know what he wanted and her decision had been backed by his parents, six specialists and the boy's independent lawyer.

Most women feel ashamed at least once a day

(AGENCY)

It's research which is likely to make a number of men happy - more than 96 per cent of women feel ashamed at least once a day, while for almost half, the feeling of guilt strikes up to four times a day, reports Press Trust of India.

According to the study, women beat themselves up daily about their friendships, relationships, work and body shape.

It found that almost half of respondents were kept awake at night by guilt, while three quarters said they had experienced more guilt since giving birth.

Eating unhealthily topped the list of causes, followed by not spending enough time with family and neglecting work, says PTI.

But it would appear that members of the opposite sex do not punish themselves in quite the same way. Of the 1,324 women and 55 men questioned by Stylist magazine, 92 per cent claimed that men felt less guilt than women.

Experts claim the difference is because women blame themselves for their failures, while men point the finger at external factors, the 'Daily Mail' reported.

Dr Cynthia McVey, head of psychology at Glasgow Caledonian University, said: "Men tend to externalise faults.

They fail an exam because 'the room was too hot' while women are more likely to internalise faults and would be more likely to admit to feeling guilty because 'I am stupid'."

Among the reasons women gave for feeling guilty were not recycling and being grumpy with loved ones.

Lynette Alle, from The Women's Coaching Company, said: "Our mothers and grandmothers worried about bombs dropping, food rationing, children going away to the country for their own safety.

"We have our own set of issues now, but these don't seem to impact our lives much, so we worry about smaller things within our control."

Women find men with head full of hair sexier

(AGENCY)

Unlucky in love? Well, as phony as it may sound, but women are not very fond of men with receding hairline.

That's the conclusion of a new research, which found that ladies looking for love on dating websites are five times more likely to contact men with a full head of hair than those who are thinning on top.

The shocking two-month experiment was conducted on behalf of hair loss treatment specialists Maximum Hair.

The research has posted two profiles on a variety of popular Internet forums. The snaps used were of the same man - except one was doctored to show him thinning on top and the other with a full head of hair.

In both the images the man was dressed identically. And said he was looking for love as a successful, professional, 30-year-old male, based in London with interests in sport, music and travel.

From the analyses, it was found that the man with a full head of hair received 108 responses, compared with 22 received by the page showing him with thinning and receding hair.

"People inevitably make judgments based on first visual impressions and it appears that beauty is not only skin deep but that many Britons have follicle foibles," The Telegraph quoted Andreas Adamides, chief executive officer of Maximum Hair, as saying.

"The research illustrates that many women are attracted by men with a full head of hair, which historically has been related to virility.

"This social experiment illustrates that in the world of online dating a person's photo is far more important than their personality profile," Andreas said.
