Warne 'slept with porn star'

(AGENCIES)

MELBOURNE: Shane Warne reportedly had sex with a porn star and sent her a series of lewd text messages as his romance with Elizabeth Hurley blossomed.

The UK's Sunday Mirror claimed today that Warne sent Chloe Conrad, 26, a series of messages at the same time his romance with Liz grew.

"If Liz thinks he has changed, she's sorely mistaken,'' Conrad said.

"On the night he was with Liz at the Bentley he was sending texts to me. I never for a second thought I was the only woman. Everyone knows Shane is not the ideal guy to settle down with. Liz is a lot older than me and should be wiser.''

Warne, 41, is alleged to have had sex with Conrad in the same suite at London's Bentley hotel, where he and Liz later sealed their romance, according to the Sunday Mirror.

In revelations sure to thrown a spanner in the works of the 'Harnie' romance, the Sunday Mirror claims that at a time when the flirtation between Hurley and Warne was well advanced, the cricketer was sending cheeky text messages to Conrad.

Alarm clock that cooks you breakfast

NEW YORK: Your alarm clock jingle can be a real pain in the morning but now you can wake up to the smell of bacon.

Wake n’ Bacon not only gets you up but also cooks you breakfast in bed.

The clock turns on 10min before you are due to wake up and slowly sizzles frozen rashers beneath two halogen light bulbs.

Its built-in fan then wafts the smell of sizzling bacon around your room to wake you up.

The invention belongs to designer Matty Sallin from New York. ‘It creates a mouthwatering smell just stong enough to gently wake you up,’ he said.

‘I’ve used it to wake up many times and it’s great,’ he added. The 38-year-old is now looking for a sponsor to make the clock, reports Metro.

'Kate Middleton kidnap' exercise angers councillors

(AP)

LONDON: An Amersham scout troop has been criticised for using a mock kidnapping of Kate Middleton as a training exercise.

Around 300 children aged 11-15 took part in the event, which involved a teenager posing as Prince William's fiancé being abducted by a group of balaclava-clad scouts masquerading as terrorists.

A fake Kate Middleton was 'kidnapped' by teenagers.

The remaining scouts were then tasked with tracking down the fake Kate, with clues left around a 12-mile orienteering course.

It was intended to be a fun exercise to teach the youngsters map reading skills and about search and rescue missions, but local councillor Ros Aitken was furious about it.

The Amersham Town Council member told the Daily Telegraph: 'I'm horrified that something like this has taken place. I did not know anything about it, but it does sound inappropriate.'

iPhone, iPad hacked in 6 minutes

(AP)

GERMANY: Researchers have exploited a security flaw in Apple's mobile devices, taking just six minutes to steal passwords from the iPhone and iPad.

Experts at Germany's Fraunhofer SIT have found that passwords are not secure, even if the mobile device has an encryption.

The institute also warned that businesses which use iPhones and iPads are being put at serious risk of security breaches.

"Within six minutes the institute’s staff was able to render the iPhone’s encryption void and decipher many passwords stored on it," Fraunhofer SIT stated.

"The flawed security design affects all iPhone and iPad devices containing the latest firmware."

For someone to hack the device, they need to have physical access to the iPhone or iPad. They can then link it to a computer, run a few basic software scripts, and locate the user's passwords and other sensitive information.

Mayor Michael Bloomberg booed over Irish jokes

(AP)

NEW YORK: New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg has defended himself after he learned the hard way that jokes about the "inebriated Irish" do not go over well with Irish audiences.

The Irish Voice reported that "there were some boos from an astonished crowd" when those words emerged from Bloomberg's mouth Wednesday night at the American Irish Historical Society, where more than 100 leading Irish-Americans were celebrating the publication of a book titled "Celebrating 250 Years of the New York City St. Patrick's Day Parade."

The mayor remarked that he lived near the society's headquarters and was used to seeing "inebriated Irish hanging out the windows."

"He was trying to be funny," said one official who was there. "It wasn't funny. Some people took it as a personal or ethnic [comment]."

Among those in attendance were the Irish Consul General, Noel Kilkenny, and the parade's Grand Marshal, author Mary Higgins Clark.
