Corset queen Cathie with a 15-inch waist

Born in 1937, Cathie Jung is an American Victorian dress and corset enthusiast residing in Old Mystic, Connecticut, US, and currently holds the Guinness World Record for the smallest waist on a living person.

Jung has a waist that measures an incredible 38.1 cm (15 inches).

According to the Guinness World Record, “The smallest waist belongs to Cathie Jung (USA, b. 1937), who stands at 1.72 m (5 ft 8 in) and has a corseted waist measuring 38.1 cm (15 in). Un-corseted, it measures 53.34 cm (21 in).”

Jung claims to have been wearing a corset every day, and says that she now wears one 24 hours a day. “I probably have around 100 of them,” says the corset queen.

Now 75 years old, this human hourglass has been certified by the Guinness Book of World Records for having the world’s smallest waist of 38cm (14.96 inches) when wearing a corset.

At this stage, she measures an incredible 39”-15”-39” but it wasn’t always like this. Cathy entered her marriage in 1959 with a 26” waist, whittled down to 22”. And that was just the start.

Years of corset training later, Cathie achieved what she and her supportive husband Bob always wished for – a tiny waistline for Cathie.
