Mother of two rapes teenager
NEW YORK: A 36-year-old mother-of-two was arrested after she flew across the US for allegedly having sex with a 13-year-old teenager she befriended while playing video games on the internet, reports Daily Mail.
Rachel Ann Hicks, 36, is being held on suspicion of child molestation and rape; she allegedly met the boy in an X-Box live chat room, said the paper quoting police officials in Maryland.
The online relationship progressed to phone calls, texting, e-mails and sending sexually explicit images and movies between one another, the investigators told the media.
Hicks, from Lake Forest, California, told the boy she was 23 years old. She flew to Maryland and met him at his home where they had sex over the Thanksgiving holiday, they said.
Shortly after, the boy's family discovered "romantic" text messages on the boy's mobile and he confessed the truth.
Tall passenger 'forced to stand on flight'
CHICAGO: A man measuring over two metres high has endured a nightmare two-and-a-half-hour plane trip after being unable to fit into his seat.
Brooks Anderson, 25, was travelling on a Spirit Airlines flight from Chicago to Florida, US, over Christmas and did not expect to have to stand for the trip.
Mr Anderson said he had to sit with his knees under his chin, pressed into the back of the seat in front during take-off and landing due to a lack of room.
“I was in an aisle seat and I clearly didn't fit at all,” Mr Anderson told the UK's Daily Mail.
“It was incredibly painful.”
Unable to take the pain any longer, he asked to be moved to an exit row seat, which has more room – but was denied.
“The stewardess asked if anyone in the emergency row would switch spots with me but came back and said: ‘You're stuck’.”
With the space between economy seats on the Spirit plane just 71 centimetres, Anderson asked for permission to stand after the seatbelt sign was turned off.
He spent most of the trip dodging people who were passing through on the way to the wash room.
