Wife stabbed 40 times for daring to seek better life

NEW YORK: A Pakistani-American TV executive stabbed his wife 40 times and then sawed off her head because she "dared to file for divorce", prosecutors told a New York jury in opening arguments.

Muzzammil Hassan (46), founder of a television network in US to counter negative perceptions about Muslims post 9/11 attacks, has been charged with second-degree murder for killing his estranged wife Aasiya Hassan on February 12, 2009.

Hassan used two hunting knives to kill Aasiya, whose body was found in a hallway of the TV office with severed head several feet away, Erie County District Attorney Paul Bonanno told jurors as reported by the Post Chronicle.

Aasiya was stabbed 40 times and her head was sawed off, Bonanno said, asserting that the 37-year-old woman was killed because she "had dared to file for divorce, dared to seek a better life for herself and her children." 
 
3-year-old girl made to strip as punishment

BANGALORE: A three-and-a-half- year-old girl who playfully bit her classmate was allegedly stripped and made to sit on a bench by a pre-school principal.

The incident took place on Monday at Mukunda Public School, said the girl's parents.

The parents are devastated by the humiliation of their child in front of her class and reported the incident to Karnataka Commission for Protection of Child Rights, which has noted their complaint, reported The Times of India.

The paper revealed that the commission has summoned the school-owner, principal and class teacher. The school denied the incident. 
 
Lady seduces friend's 12-year-old three times

LONDON: A primary school playtime assistant had sex with the 12-year-old son of a close friend five times, a court heard.

Mother-of-two Diane Pullar, 31, began picking the boy up from school and sent him secret text messages which he was told to delete, reveals Daily Mail.

The blonde was only exposed after another friend's sons walked in on them. She allegedly groomed the boy after her son became after committing the attacks Pullar attended the boy's 13th birthday party, the paper said.
 
Nurse banned for sex with dying patient

OKLAHOMA: An Oklahoma nurse is fighting back after the state's nursing board barred her from her profession for 20 years for having sex with her married, terminally-ill hospice patient.

Amber Van Brunt, 33, goes before an Oklahoma County judge on Wednesday to ask to reverse the board's August decision, The Oklahoman said.

Van Brunt's lawyer said it was a consensual relationship that did not take place while she was working.

The Oklahoma Nursing Board said it had evidence that the sexual relationship occurred during work hours, but said this fact was irrelevant anyway because any relationship outside of the work day would still be considered unprofessional, the newspaper reported.

Van Brunt started caring for Chris Reiter, 43, at his home in November 2009. He suffered from Lou Gehrig's disease and was given six months or less to live.

Before he died in May 2010, Reiter said he had been seduced, the paper said.
