A baby goat plunged nearly 25 metres into a water well in Saudi Arabia but was saved unharmed by the civil defence in the Gulf Kingdom.

Civil defence men used ropes to go down into the well and pluck the goat out to safety after hearing its incessant bleating that sounded as if the animal was shouting for help, according to the Arabic language daily 'Sabq'.

“The civil defence men went down into the well and found the baby goat alive. They lifted it out to safety and gave it back to its owner,” the paper said in a report from the southern Saudi town of Taif.
