Cockroach found in wrapped fruit package

A Saudi man who bought pear from a local supermarket was shocked when he saw a live cockroach among the pears although they were wrapped in a plastic package.

The man filmed the insect and sent the picture to the Saudi daily Arar which published it along with a call on health authorities to exercise more control of food outlets.

The paper said the man discovered the insect in the fruit package he bought from a famous supermarket in the northern town of Arar.
