Crazy World: Rogue iPhone rings up £19k bill

Published

UK: A 26-year-old was shocked to see his phone bill. He thought it was a joke after he was hit with a £19,000 bill for internet usage.

When he got in touch with his mobile phone company, he was told that he should expect the next bill of £10,000 soon enough, reveals Daily Mail.

He soon realised that the company people were serious and not joking at all. Apparently there was a problem with the phone which caused his iPhone to start sending and receiving large amount of data.

Even after switching the rogue mobile, it kept sending and receiving data automatically. Restoring factory settings also had no impact on its auto settings.

Staff at Apple store agreed there was a genuine problem with the phone and decided to replace it.

However, this did not solve the subscriber's problem. The phone company continued to chase him for the billed amount. Till they realised that they should not be charging their client for no fault of his own.

Man rents billboard in bid to find work

UK: A 24-year-old unemployed graduate allegedly spent his last £500 on renting a billboard to help find him a job. The young man, who holds a first class degree in media production from University of Winchester has also set up his own website called emplyadam.com

There is an interesting tongue-and-cheek video on his site which says why he is desperate to be hired, he told Orange.co.uk.

He says: "As you can see from my email inbox I have spent countless hours applying for jobs with no luck which is why I have launched employadam.com.

"I am looking for work in the ultra-competitive, cut-throat and slightly vacuous industry that is the media."

He adds: "So if I seem like your ideal candidate then please get in touch because, to be honest, I am getting desperate."

Both his website and billboard have gained a lot of attention on Twitter. Earlier, the young man had become famous for starting an online campaign to find the girl he had dreamt of. He even drew a sketch of the girl from his dreams.

The 21-year-old decided tot ake the plunge after testing its depth with the help of a stick.

"When I saw it I said I wouldn't get a chance like it again. It was fresh water from a water main, so it wasn't dirty, I didn't mind doing it," he told RTE News.

The pothole has since been filled in.

Air passenger taped to his seat, gagged after drunken rampage

US: A passenger aboard a New York flight was completely drunk when he decided to go on a rampage inside the plane.

The 46-year-old accosted his co-passengers, spitted on some people, grabbed at women and abused the crew members, reports NY Daily News.

He was completely out of control after consuming duty free alcohol and had to be restrained to a seat with duct tape.

The social networking site Reddit had an incredible image (posted by Mezane) of the subdued drunk passenger. The Reddit user also wrote on the site:

“He drank an entire bottle of some duty free alcohol. Then he tried grabbing the women who were sitting next him screaming that we're going to crash,” Mezane wrote. “Finally he started chocking [sic] a guy next to him and that's when a huge crowd restrained him and tied him up. This was 2 hours into a 6 hour flight.”

Icelandic Air confirmed the incident and said that its crew were forced to confine the passenger with duct tape. He was escorted off the plane at JFK and taken to a nearby hospital.
