Girl gangsters willingly get raped for status

Published

BRITAIN: In a shocking revelation, a reformed female gangster said that getting sexually abused by male gang members is normal and an essential part of being accepted into notorious groups for girls as young as 12.

The 20-year-old who was part of a gang of 80 members in Peckham, south London, told Daily Mail that it is all about 'craving for attention'.

According to an estimate by Met Police, there are about 250 criminal gangs that are active in London and these various notorious groups are responsible for one in seven reported rapes, added the daily.

Research groups also reveal that rape is also used as a tool of punishment for girl gang members. Even after being sexually abused, the girls, sometimes as young as 16, continue to maintain relationship with their abusers because of their low self esteem and because they believe that they cannot do better.

Police officers and charity groups officers are warning girls as young as 12 about the dangers of associating with male gangs, said the daily.

Teacher caught spitting on student

NEW YORK: A maths teacher has been removed from his position and given a desk job after he was caught 'swatting and spitting' at a student in a video clip that was doing the rounds in the cyber world.

According to the Daily News, this isn't the first time the Queens teacher has slung his saliva at a student. A student told the daily that the teacher of the New York-based school was in the habit of getting into students' faces and spitting all over them.

However, the teacher in his defence says that the video only shows half the story. He says a student tried putting chewed gum on the rear part of his body. The teacher caught him doing that and the video clip is the evidence of the altercation between the student and the teacher.

Teenager killed by classmates for befriending a girl

DELHI: A 15-year-old boy was brutally stabbed and his body was left to rot in a mustard field. The victim's body was discovered by villagers who informed the police officials.

Initial investigations led the police to a couple of his classmates who had lured the victim with the promise of buying stationery. The boy was taken to an isolated place and put to death, reports Mid-Day.

The incident was a grim fallout of a Valentine's day altercation. The victim apparently befriended a girl whom one of the murderers was very fond of. The accused and the victim had a war of words of February 14 over the same girl.

The accused asked one of his friends to carry out the murder. The accomplice was even promised Dh500 for his help. The main accused is the son of a police inspector. The suspicion fell on him when he could not explain the various cuts on his fingers and his whereabouts at the time of the murder since he was last seen with the victim on his bike.

The accused and the victim were all students of grade 8.

Teacher had students make cards for inmate boyfriend

NEW YORK: A teacher is likely to be sacked for asking her young students to create holiday cards for her boyfriend who was lodged in jail.

Some of the cards that reached the inmate had the students' addresses mentioned on the envelope. The boyfriend was accused of possessing child porn and convicted on weapons charges, reveals Huffington Post.

The teacher told the fifth graders to draw the greetings cards because she thought it was a nice thing to do, according to the investigators who spoke to New York Daily News.

A corrections officer at the prison reported about the addresses of kids on the cards and passed on the information to the school.
