Heroic man who rescues buried child discovers it is his daughter

A Chinese good samaritan who rushed to help a child buried under 11 tonnes of sand was shocked to discover it was his own daughter.

Hu Shuncheng, 32, was returning from work when he saw an over-loaded lorry overturned  near his house in Yiwu, China.

When emergency service workers said a child had entered the road and the lorry had swerved to avoid her, he immediately got down to helping them clear the sand. But to his horror he discovered it was his four-year-old daughter that was lying underneath, reported DailyMail.

She is in critical condition and doctors say they have done their best and her “survival is uncertain”.

The child was underneath the sand for almost an hour, until a crane could lift the lorry off her and then clear the sand.

Police say the lorry was heavily overloaded, carrying 11 tonnes of sand when its limit was only 1.5tonnes.
