A middle-aged East Los Angeles man who allegedly made more than 18,000 prank 911 calls over six months before being arrested, reported 'Daily News'.
Maurice Cruz, 43, started harassing the Los Angeles Communications Center 911 emergency lines via cellular phone," Joslin said. He made the calls utilising a number of non-initialised mobile phone handsets, which made tracing his calls difficult."

Investigators with the CHP and the U.S. Secret Service tracked Cruz to a home in East Los Angeles and took him into custody.
