It may be the all-nighter of all time, but the Guinness Book of World Records is not likely to credit a record for going the longest without sleep.
Tyler Shields, a 28-year-old photographer from Los Angeles, set out to go 40 days without sleep.
Guinness World Records does not observe such a record because of how dangerous it is, according to AOL News . But that has not stopped Shields, who has enlisted friends as spotters so they can vouch for his accomplishment.
According to his blog , Shields completed his project Monday morning. "After 40 days of not sleeping I am finally done with my project and now I will try to sleep and see for how long! How long do you think I will sleep?" he posted.
Shields told AOL News that he disagrees with people who say it can not be done.
"If I was a normal person that slept every night, then I would agree with those people," he said. "But in my normal life, I only sleep one to two nights a week – that's my normal. That's my every day."
Sheilds continued to do photography work while he went sleepless.
