A 25-year-old Saudi man escaped with injuries after plunging nearly 3,000 metres off a mountain peak in the Gulf Kingdom, newspapers reported on Monday.

The man was practicing his climbing on Taleeh Mountain near the northwestern town of Tabuk when he lost his balance and rolled down to the bottom of the valley.

“He fell from the top of the mountain which is around 3,000 metres high. He suffered from injuries and was taken to hospital,” Ajel daily said, quoting the civil defence.
