A premature baby born at just 26 weeks in Los Angeles created medical history of sorts, by giving a unique glimpse of life inside the womb.

The baby boy was born with the amniotic sac still intact, reports ‘losangeles.cbslocal’.

The baby -  now 10 weeks old – was born by C-section and is a true medical rarity!

“It really felt like a moment of awe,” William Binder, neonatologist, who clicked the newborn’s picture on his mobile phone, was quoted as saying.

The baby’s mom, who saw the picture later, found it ‘cool’. “You could definitely make out his head and his hair. He was kind of in a foetal position and you could see like his arms and his legs curled up…” ‘Mirror’ quoted her as saying.

Until the bag was broken, the baby was getting oxygen through the placenta.

Doctors said the baby is doing well and should go home in less than a month.
