TV presenters eat each other's flesh

HOLLAND: A weird stunt on television is generating headlines globally.

A couple of presenters of a television show Proefkonijnen (which means guinea pigs or test rabbits), took reality TV to a new pinnacle when they consumed each other's freshly cooked flesh, reports ABCNews.

The crazy presenters earlier went under the knife and a surgeon cut a piece of their muscle at a clinic.

Dennis Storm and Valerio Zeno watched on as flesh was cut from Zeno's abdomen and another piece was taken from Storm's bottom.

Back to the studio, a chef fried their muscles live on the show, in front of a studio audience. The couple sat sown for a disgusting candlelit dinner to dine on each other's muscles, reported ABCNews.

The audience were informed that the human body part was cooked to medium-rare in sunflower oil without seasoning.

"Nothing is really that special when you're talking about the taste of the meat, but it is weird to look into the eyes of a friend when you are chewing on his belly," Storm told ABCNews in the US.

International news headlines ranged from "Cannibalism on Dutch TV generates world-wide repulsion" to "In the worst possible taste: Sick TV stunt features presenters eating EACH OTHER". The pre-recorded episode will air on December 21.

Drunk dad allows daughter, 9, to drive

DETROIT: A suburban Detroit man has entered guilty pleas to allegations that he let his 9-year-old daughter drive him around because he had been drinking.

The Wayne County prosecutor's office says 39-year-old Shawn Weimer pleaded guilty Monday to second-degree child abuse and allowing an unlicensed minor to operate a motor vehicle.

Weimer was arrested Oct. 8 when police pulled over his van and found the girl behind the wheel near their home.

Surveillance video from a Brownstown Township gas station shows Weimer bragging about her driving skills.

The girl testified last month that her father drank a half bottle of whiskey the night they were pulled over and that she agreed to drive but felt a "little scared."

Weimer is scheduled to be sentenced Feb. 23 in Wayne County Circuit Court.

Dad binds child with tape, posts pic on Facebook

US: 'This is wut happens wen my baby hits me back': Dad sparks police investigation after posting photo of his child bound with blue tape to Facebook, reports Daily Mail.

Andre Curry, of Chicago, has generated intense online backlash after he posted this photo of his daughter earlier this year.

In the image, the girl's legs and hands are seen bound with a shining blue tape and there is a big tape stuck across her mouth as well.

One of the father's friends has come to his rescue, claiming that he was just fooling around with the kid and he would never harm his daughter.

Even though the image was taken off the Facebook page, it had already spread on the internet and furious netizens were calling the dad ' a nasty child abuser'.

He was most concerned about his passport, reported The Times of India. And as luck would have it, the thief probably is a regular reader of the daily and posted the victim's passport, credit cards, return airline ticket in a post box. However, he chose to keep the valuables like laptop with himself.

Showers cause blonde hair to turn green

SWEDEN: A number of blondes who occupied newly constructed home in a southern town in Sweden, suddenly found their hair turning green. It certainly wasn't jealousy or envy which was bringing about the change, but copper in the water pipes.

Apparently, there was an unusual reaction between the water supply and the shower system of a number of new homes that was responsible for the new phenomenon, Swedish newspaper Skanskan reported.

Authorities began investigating when a number of residents of Anderslov complained that their hair suddenly turned green, said the daily.

The water supply was tested in several new homes to see if there was a high level of copper - known to turn hair green - but recorded only normal levels of the metal.

However, when hot water was left in the houses' water systems overnight, the amount of copper in it was found to increase to five or 10 times the normal amount.

Investigators came to the conclusion that the hot water must have peeled copper from the pipes and water heaters.

The copper then was absorbed into the water, causing the shock hair colour change when residents showered. The issue was mainly found to be worst in new homes, where pipes lacked safety coatings.

Boyfriend buried girl alive in cardboard grave

UK: A Polish man who shot his partner with a stun gun and then buried her alive in a cardboard box has been found guilty of attempted murder by an English court.

A Polish man who buried his partner alive in a cardboard box has been found guilty of attempted murder.

Marcin Kasprzak, 25, attacked Michelina Lewandowska, 27, the mother of his child, at their home in Huddersfield, northern England, on May 28, then bound and gagged her with tape.

Lewandowska, also Polish, was placed in a box and buried in nearby woodland.

She managed to cut her way out of the box using her engagement ring, and dug herself out of the shallow grave, which was covered with earth and a tree branch, before flagging down a passing motorist.

Kasprzak denied attempted murder but was found guilty by a jury at Leeds Crown Court on Monday.

Fellow Pole Patryk Borys, 18, was cleared of the same charge.

Both men have admitted kidnap and Kasprzak also admitted possessing a prohibited weapon. They will be sentenced on January 13.

The jury was told Kasprzak attacked Lewandowska because their relationship had broken down and he wanted custody of their three-year-old son.

Kasprzak told the court he only meant to scare Lewandowska and did not intend to kill her.

Man drives with dead wife in car

WASHINGTON: Authorities say a British Columbia man drove about 225 miles (360 kilometers) after his 75-year-old wife died in the car next to him, uncertain whether he could cross the Canadian border with her.

Tonasket Police Chief Robert Burks says the 71-year-old man didn't know what to do, so he kept driving. The man was vacationing in Oregon when his wife began suffering a medical condition. They were trying to get home to Oliver, British Columbia, but she died near Pasco, Washington state.

The Wenatchee World newspaper reports the man on Sunday called the vehicle emergency system, OnStar, which put him in touch with dispatchers in Okanogan County. A dispatcher convinced him to stop at the Tonasket police station, about 20 miles (30 kilometers) south of Canada.

Burks says the woman was taken to North Valley Hospital and pronounced dead. He says police determined her death wasn't suspicious.

Hospital 'accidently' terminates healthy foetus

AUSTRALIA: The Royal Women's Hospital in Melbourne was investigating on Thursday after a healthy 32-week-old foetus was accidentally terminated in a botched procedure it called "a terrible tragedy".

Doctors had advised a woman who was having twin boys she had already named that one had a congenital heart defect that would require years of operations, if he survived at all, the Herald Sun reported.

She made the heartbreaking decision to abort the child but on Tuesday the wrong baby was terminated.

The woman then had to endure a lengthy caesarean section to end the life of the sick foetus.

"The Royal Women's Hospital can confirm a distressing clinical accident occurred on Tuesday," the hospital said in a statement.

"This is a terrible tragedy and the hospital is deeply sorry for the loss suffered by the patient and her family.

"We are conducting a full investigation and continue to offer the family and affected staff every support."

A friend of the woman told the newspaper the family was struggling to cope.

"She went to the hospital with two babies and now she has none. And she had the heartache of giving birth to her sick baby. She's traumatised," she said.

"The hospital said it had followed correct procedure, but how could this happen?"

Victorian state Premier Ted Baillieu told reporters it was a tragedy for everyone involved.

"I don't think it's appropriate for anybody to draw any conclusions other than this is a horrible tragedy," he said.

"We'll make sure that the investigation is as thorough as it can be."
