Massachusetts police were searching Monday for a man who stole a pregnant woman’s car after claiming to be a hospital valet.

A woman about to give birth drove herself to the emergency room at Lowell General Hospital at about 3 a.m. She was met by a man wearing what appeared to be a uniformed shirt, the Boston Herald reported. The man claimed to be a hospital valet and offered to park her car while she checked in.

After handing over the keys, the woman headed inside the hospital. While being admitted, the woman was told the hospital didn't offer a valet service.

Officers were called to the scene and the car was recovered. Police were searching for clues that may lead to the identity of the fake valet.
