Hawk hunts pigeons in the Bronx

All of the pigeons around New York City might annoy a lot of people but they provide food for some other wildlife.

Fan Rich snapped some photos of a hawk that caught a pigeon on Anderson Avenue in the Bronx.

The hawk almost appeared to be proudly posing with its kill.

The NYC Audubon Society says the hawk population has grown in the city as humans have stopped killing them . A 2007 study commissioned by the Audubon Society reported that pairs of red-tails were spotted breeding in nests at 32 locations throughout the city.
