A British company which offers products made from human leather has faced criticism from GCC nationals on social media.
The company claimed that all its products are carefully hand-crafted by experienced master craftsmen, with years of experience in handling finest leather known – Human Leather.
This new went viral on social media as many GCC nationals criticized these types of products, and said that they will never think of buying such products.
Maryam, a Kuwaiti girl said that the idea of making shoes or wallets or any products from human leather is disgusting.
“How can they sell these things, and how can they get all these clients who are willing to buy it. Just thinking about it makes me sick.”
Ahmed, a Saudi man commented and said that it is a crazy world, and God knows what els they are going to come up with.
Omar, a UAE national shared similar view and said that just the idea makes him feel sick, and wondered what is the feeling of those who actually wear these products.
Finest type of leather
The company offers many products, such as wallets, shoes, belts, and power bracelets. It offers variety of power bracelets which it claims are good for physical power, mental clarity, fearlessness, sexual energy, virility and fertility, immunity boost, growth and digestive power.
The company also claimed through its website that it stopped taking new orders on wallets, belts and shoes since January 2011 due to high demand. It is only accepting new orders on the power bracelets which costs Euros 500 onwards.
The company makes its products from full thickness human skin. It transforms the human skin into the finest grade leather by using traditional tanning process.
The company claimed that human leather is the finest type of leather as it is free of defects, and has smallest grain size which makes it the smoothest and softest leather on Earth.
The company gets its raw material from people who bequeathed it to them prior to their death. And the skin is mainly taken from the back and abdomen areas, which have uninterrupted skin coverage, and therefore, the best for processing into human leather.
The company rewards the donor’s beneficiaries and next of kin handsomely. It also turned away some potential donors as it only accept the highest quality human skin.
The company said that it caters to a small but premium clients. It claimed that its clients are amongst those lucky few who have everything they could possibly desire
