A new day, a new signing linked to Manchester United.
With a 2-0 win over Swansea in the Premier League United under David Moyes have taken the one step forward… now the Stretford End hopes there will be no two steps back… as has been the Red Devil routine for much of the season so far.
While football experts and pundits poured cold water over Moyes’ January transfer link to Ilkay Gundogan of Borussia Dortmund, and by that reasoning, Marco Reus – both have contracts that will make a move difficult and not sensible – United fans are being dangled Valencia’s Ever Banega this morning.
The Mirror quoting Tom Hopkinson in the Sunday People says Moyes is looking to Banega to steel Manchester United’s midfield.
The reports uses the words “midfield general”, but with the emergence of Darren Fletcher alongside Michael Carrick, cue second half against Swansea, it is not clear how exactly the £12.5million-rated Argentinian Banega will fit into the scheme of things.
The report adds that Banega, 25, is demanding an immediate move, but Javier Hernandez could be key to a swap deal.
