Cost Cutter rip through Interface

Asim Kaleem and Adil shone with the ball as Cost Cutter CC trounced Interface by 82 runs in the 39th Bukhatir League ‘A’ Division Tournament organised by the Sharjah Cricket Council.

Team Interface needing only 186 to win at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium, faced trouble from the start when Kaleem ran through the top order removing the first three batsmen.

Adil continued from there to shatter the middle order while Ansar Butt cleaned up the tail to ensure Team Interface were shot out for a paltry 103 in 35.2 overs.

Kaleem claimed 3 for 26 while Adil also bagged three for just 20.

For Team Interface it was a disastrous batting performance with only opener Fahad Tariq showing some resistance with a 33-ball 31 consisting of five boundaries.

Earlier put in to bat, Cost Cutter also suffered early setback losing three wickets with just 14 runs on board.

But Kaleem scored 18 from 73 deliveries and Fahad Usman played sensibly to put their team on the road to recovery.

Usman carried on at one end to reach a well deserved 54 from 75 balls, interestingly scoring all his runs through nine boundaries and three sixes. 

Kashif Khan chipped in with a significant 19, but it was Nabeel Ahmed (21) and Amir Jaffer (28) lower down the order who provided the late surge as Cost Cutter achieved a decent 185 all out in 48.5 overs.

Waseem Bari and Umer Khalid shared the spoils claiming three wickets each while Abdullah Kayani bagged two.
