Chawla Sindhi Royals coasted to a seven-wicket win over Vintage Victorious Sindhis in the Sindhi Premier Cricket League, organised by Sindhi Cricket Club under the auspices of the Dubai Cricket Council at The Sevens.

Batting first, Vintage were reduced to 110 from their allotted overs. So pathetic was their batting display that 24 extras helped them get past the 100-run mark.

But even that didn’t help as Chawla were quick to grab the opportunity of facing a small target and achieved it in 17.1 overs to register their fifth win from eight matches, while Vintage suffered their third defeat from seven.

Vintage batsmen never looked at ease from the time they won the toss and elected to bat.

Harish Jashnani struck two early blows and before Vintage could even settle down Navin Punjabi and Vinay Tolani had them with their backs to the wall.

Then Shiva Pagarani got the dangerman Yash Makar out and it looked all over for Vintage barring a run-a-ball 22 from Abhinav Bhandari which helped them salvage some pride.

Chawla suffered some anxious moments when they lost three wickets for 37 but man of the match Navin Punjabi and Vinay Totani ensured there were no further hiccups on way to achieving their target.
