ECB Blues ease to victory in Conmix Cup

Arshad Ali and Amjad Ali slammed superb half-centuries while Ahmed Raza had a four-wicket haul to guide ECB Blues to a convincing 98-run victory over Sharjah Club in the second Al Dhaid Ramadan T20 tournament, organised by the Sharjah Cricket Council, for the Conmix Cup at Al Dhaid Cricket Village.
Arshad cracked 77 off 54 balls with 10 fours and Amjad Ali chipped in with 54 off 39 as ECB Blues, batting first, piled up a formidable 200 for five. Abdul Rehman scored an unbeaten 30 off just 13 balls.
Azam claimed three for 23 for Sharjah Club who were bowled out for 102 in the 20th over with Raza taking four for 16. Mohammed Tauqir, the former UAE captain, further added to the woes of Sharjah Club batsman, snaring two for six.
Shiraz Butt was the only Sharjah Club batsman to offer some resistance making 38 off 26 balls.
In another match, Imran Ali Rao cracked a scintillating half-century to steer Afridi CC to a fine five-wicket victory over Lanka Lions ‘B’ team .
Playing with authority and determination, Imran Ali smashed 80 off just 49 balls which included 13 fours and two sixes as Afridi CC overhauled Lanka Lions’ challenging total of 163 for six in 19 overs.
