Sharjah Club survived a compelling fight-back from Afridi CC before chalking up a narrow four-run victory in a high-scoring match of the second Al Dhaid Ramadan T-20 tournament, organised by the Sharjah Cricket Council, for the Conmix Cup at Al Dhaid Cricket Village.
Sharjah Club, batting first, did well to score 177 before being all out in 19.2 overs and then managed to restrict Afridi CC to 173.
Shiraz Butt smashed a superb 48 off 28 balls with four fours and two sixes to lead the Sharjah Club batting charge. Rashid Khan (26 off 15), Hazrat (27 off 18) and Usman (22 off 10 balls) further consolidated the innings.
Afridi CC, in reply, refused to throw in the towel and played with determination before stumbling on the finishing line. Haji Imran (61 off 49 with five fours and four sixes) and Shehzad (56 off 37 with five fours and two sixes) kept their team’s hopes alive.
Moiz Shahid, who was later named man of the match, took three for 30 to swing the match in his side’s favour. Kashif also picked up three for 21.
