Usman, Yasir shine for Multiplex

Two half centuries by Usman and Yasir helped Multiplex score a seven-wicket victory over Unicon CC in the 22nd Twenty20 Bukhatir League ‘B’ Division tournament organised by the Sharjah Cricket Council.

Chasing a challenging 184 to win, Multiplex were never under pressure with the top order coming good.

Opener Majid was the first to go after providing a solid platform scoring a 22-ball 23 including three fours and a six.

Usman (52, 43, 6x4, 1x6) and Yasir then shared 82-run stand for the second wicket which took the game away from Unicon.

Yasir was in impeccable form hammering four boundaries and three sixes to smash an unbeaten 74 from only 35 deliveries to take Multiplex past the target in the final over.

Zahid chipped in with a significant 17 off 14 deliveries.

Earlier, opener Sajjad blasted a 35-ball 70 peppered with three sixes and seven boundaries to give Unicon a dream start.

Saif Ullah struck 27 from only 16 balls before S Asif ran through the middle order to claim four wickets that slowed down the run flow.

But Asad (23 not out) and Shahid (26 not out) struck useful cameos lower the order to boost the total.
The duo shared an unbroken 42 runs for the eighth wicket as Unicon reached a healthy 183 for eight in 20 overs.
