V Sindhi's pull off narrow victory

Ashish Bhandari and Shiva Pagarani of V Sindhi’s dazzled with some superb performances to lead their team to a narrow  12-run win over U Sindhi’s in the Sindhi Premier League Tournament conducted by the Sindhi Community under the auspices of the Dubai Cricket Council.

Batting first V Sindhi’s put up a challenging total of 204 in their 25 overs riding on Ashish  Bhandari’s power packed knock of 68 runs.

His 31-ball knock contained three sixes and eight fours and he was well supported by Anand Shenoj who made a run-a-ball 33 during a 131-run partnership.

V Sindhi’s  then lost some quick wickets as Amjad Mistry and Vijay Lachwani bowled well to bag five wickets.

Neeraj Ramamoorthy 32, then shouldered the responsibility to steer his team out of the woods and ensure that they put up a good fighting total on the board. He hit four boundaries in his mature knock.

Yogesh Odhrani 28 and Sunil Bahirwani gave their team a sedate start of 46 runs but were struggling to catch up with the required run rate.

Anil Manghnani with an attractive and brisk knock of 46 runs in 32 balls did try to step up the proceedings at a faster pace but tight bowling by Pagarani who bagged three for 28 and Neeraj tightened the noose on U Sindhi’s restricting them to 192 leaving V Sindhi’s victors.
