Warne has 'gigantic mattress' delivered as Liz arrives in Oz

Cricketer Shane Warne has reportedly bought a gigantic new mattress to welcome Liz Hurley, whom he is dating.

Liz, 45, arrived in Melbourne at 8pm yesterday – and was driven to Warne’s mansion, where optimistic paparazzi waited outside and choppers hovered above, but the lovebirds stayed bedded down behind security screens, high gates and out-of-character discretion.

British tabloids are enjoying the tryst, making the most of News Limited’s salacious mattress reports.

The Sun reported Hurley's visit to the “randy Aussie” who took delivery of a “gigantic new mattress”, with a photo of him applying lip balm “in anticipation of romance”.

The Daily Mirror spent five paragraphs on the story, leading with the mattress, while the Daily Mail also focused on the mattress and lip balm.

The Hurley-Warne affair was played out very publicly last year as they exchanged flirtatious tweets for the world to see.

But the blackout screens on the high fences ensured any romance on Wednesday was for their eyes only.

The 41-year-old laid out his intentions after the king-sized sky blue furnishing was delivered to his £2 million mansion. And workers were seen removing part of his old bed.

“The mattress was huge and Warne had obviously had it especially delivered. The only question is how long it will take him to break it in,” the Sun quoted an onlooker as saying.
