18-year-old UAE footballer dies in accident

UAE football player Ahmed Hassan of Al Ahli club died in a traffic accident in the Saudi Arabian capital of Riyadh on Thursday.

The 18-year-old was on his way to perform Umrah.

Hassan played against Al Shabab on Wednesday and then got permission from the management of his team to travel to Saudi Arabia.

The youngster was with three of his companions when the accident happened. All the others escaped with injuries.

Antar Marzouk, member of the technical committee of Al Ahli club said that the club would coordinate the arrival and burial of the body.
