Allardyce fined for FA Cup 'bias' remarks

West Ham United manager Sam Allardyce has been fined £8,000 ($12,529) for remarks he made alleging bias following the FA Cup third round replay defeat at Old Trafford last month.

After the Hammers lost the match 1-0 on January 16, the 58-year-old Allardyce was charged for a breach of the Football Association's Rule E3, suggesting he'd questioned the integrity of officials or implied they were motivated by bias.

Allardyce was angry that while United were awarded a penalty for handball, the Hammers were denied one for what he thought was a similar incident.

"You see it time and time again at Old Trafford," Allardyce said after the match. "There's no doubt about the difference between Rafael's handball and Jordan Spence's.

"Spence plays for West Ham and the away team, while Rafael plays for the home side at Old Trafford."

Allardyce was also warned Wednesday by the FA as to his future conduct.
