Why is Chelsea buying Victor Moses?

And why not Jesus Navas?

That is a question that has raised more than a few eyebrows around the Premier League as well as among the Blues fans.

As the other England club to score big last season – Manchester City – gets ready to splash the clash further to ensure they are no one-hit wonder, Chelsea have taken a rather laborious and strange route to the transfer market.

First came the news that Hulk, seen by many as the ideal replacement for Didier Drogba, has not been bid for.

Eden Hazard, Marko Marin are said to be on their way to Stamford Bridge this summer as well.

So where does Wigan’s 21-year-old forward fit in?

Victor Moses, the Nigeria star is said to have turned down Manchester City in January 2010, but Chelsea had a bid of around £3m.

Wigan value him much more.

So are Chelsea chasing an great potential, which will be a change from their ploy to buy the readymade products?

Or is it that new manager Roberto Di Matteo is unable to draw the big names?

Sure he won the Champions League, but a Pep Guardiola he is not.
