Derby clashes loom in FA Cup semi-finals

Merseyside and London derby FA Cup semi-finals were a possibility following Sunday's draw for next month's last four clashes at Wembley Stadium.

Liverpool, who beat Stoke 2-1 on Sunday, will face Everton if their local rivals can get past Sunderland after a 1-1 draw at Goodison Park on Saturday.

Meanwhile Tottenham Hotspur will be up against Chelsea should they beat Bolton Wanderers in a quarter-final, where Saturday's original tie was abandoned after Bolton's Fabrice Muamba collapsed on the pitch at White Hart Lane.

Liverpool, who have already won the League Cup final at Wembley this season, beat Everton 3-0 in the Premier League at Anfield on Tuesday, with Everton manager David Moyes controversially resting several players ahead of the Cup tie with Sunderland.

"The people on Merseyside have two clubs they can be proud of," Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish told ITV on Sunday.

"They (Everton) have a difficult game going to Sunderland to try and get themselves through; we are there and whoever you were going to get was going to be really difficult.

"If it's a Merseyside one fine, but it's a difficult hurdle for Everton to go to Sunderland."

Chelsea beat Championship side Leicester, who were the last team from outside the Premier League still left in the FA Cup, 5-2 at Stamford Bridge on Sunday with former Liverpool striker Fernando Torres scoring twice to end his five-month long goal drought.

The semi-finals will be played at Wembley over the weekend of April 14-15.
