Esperance, Wydad coaches quit

CAF Champions League winners Esperance of Tunisia and runners-up Wydad Casablanca of Morocco are hunting for new coaches after Nabil Maaloul and Michel Decastel resigned.

Former Esperance midfielder Maaloul also guided the 'Blood and Gold' to a domestic league and cup double before faltering last month at the FIFA Club World Cup in Japan, where his team finished sixth of seven challengers.

Swiss Decastel arrived at Wydad in mid-2011 and exceeded expectations by guiding the Casablanca club to a final settled by a second-leg goal from Ghana full-back Harrison Afful.

Decastel has coached Esperance before and Tunisian daily Le Temps hinted that he could be heading back to a club who have won every CAF title except the Confederation Cup.
