Norway striker Mohammed Abdellaoue scored a hat trick to give Hannover a 3-2 win over Werder Bremen in their Bundesliga northern derby on Sunday.
Abdellaoue converted a penalty for Hannover in the second minute, adding another in the 38th when Jan Schlaudraff ran down the right before curling a cross for the Norwegian to finish.
Abdellaoue scored past Sebastian Mielitz from close range in the 60th, after Marko Arnautovic pulled one back for Werder in first half injury time.
Arnautovic was shown a straight red card for a stamp on Sergio Pinto's ankle in the 78th before Peru striker Claudio Pizarro scored a late consolation with a volley in the 83rd.
Bremen could have gone level on points with leader Bayern Munich.
Hamburger SV hosted Schalke later Sunday.
