Lille sign Costa Rican starlet

French champions Lille announced on Friday that they have signed 18-year-old Costa Rican striker John Jairo Ruiz Barrantes from Deportivo Saprissa on a four-and-a-half-year contract.

The player caught the eye during last year's Under-20 World Cup in Colombia, where he scored three goals in four appearances for the Costa Rican side.
