Sir Alex Ferguson must retain faith in midfielder Anderson who is the last Brazilian hope for Manchester United.

After failing to secure Lucas Moura from Sao Paulo, Ferguson is pinning hopes on Anderson coming good especially since he is considered as the original replacement for veteran Paul Scholes.

The Brazilian ace has not disappointed this season and is determined to do better after a trophy-less season, according to The Sun.

United failed to land a trophy for the first time since 2005 when they were pipped to the title by rivals City.

Anderson said: “We have to do better. Manchester United have to win every trophy and we’re disappointed if we don’t.

“There’s always pressure to do well when you play for this club.

“At the beginning of the season it’s difficult but we’ve got a couple of wins and now we want more.”
