Player no-shows put N.Korea, Iraq, Qatar in trouble

Qatar, North Korea and Iraq face possible disciplinary action at the Asian Cup after failing to send players to their pre-match press conferences, the Asian Football Confederation said Wednesday.

Tournament director Tokuaki Suzuki said the AFC would ask for explanations before putting the matter before their disciplinary committee, with a decision on punishment announced later in the week.

"The importance of interacting with the media was explained to the teams in several workshops. Teams have to comply with the tournament regulations," he said.
