Ronaldinho is hoping his return to Brazilian football will help him regain a place in the national team so he can play in the World Cup in Brazil in 2014.
A day after signing with popular club Flamengo, Ronaldinho said on the team's website on Tuesday that he expects his stint in Brazil will help him reach his goal to thrive with the national team again.
Ronaldinho says Flamengo fans can "expect the most" from him and that he hopes his performances with the club will "put him back in the national team."
Ronaldinho ended a 10-year period playing in Europe, transferring from AC Milan to sign a four-year contract with Flamengo.
The two-time FIFA player of the year is expected to make his debut in February.
