Why did Kylian Mbappé and Achraf Hakimi miss Lionel Messi's reception?

Kylian Mbappe and Ashraf Hakimi were notably absent from the reception of Lionel Messi, the Argentine superstar, upon his return to Paris Saint-Germain's training after winning the 2022 World Cup with the Argentine national team.

Despite Mbappe's absence, the Parisian players were eager to honor Messi in his first training session back, creating an honorary corridor on the field and presenting him with a commemorative shield to the applause of all present.

Mbappe and Hakimi were granted a negative leave from coach Christophe Galtier, allowing them to travel to the United States of America together. Meanwhile, Messi's return to the training center was met with a muted reception, as no fans were present to greet him.

The 2022 World Cup saw a fierce rivalry between Messi and Mbappe for the top scorer award and the best player in the tournament, as well as a battle to lead their respective countries to the World Cup title.
