Juggie Brar lit up fireworks on the course with a solid golf swing as Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club (DCGYC) welcomed their new Club Captain Joseph Andrade with the traditional drive in during the BMW Monthly Medal.

Playing his first medal event of the year, the ever popular Juggie fired a stunning nett 63 to the take the medal, a good six shots ahead of his nearest challenger Arshad Waheed.
In the Men’s Division A, John Thomas (nett 71) took the spoils from Patrick Morrow on a countback. Serifa D’Souza triumphed in the ladies division with a superb nett 68 with Ashaka Desai finishing runner up on a nett 72.
Charlie Stephenson produced the lowest gross score on the day (three-over-par 74).
Brar attributed his victory to a positive mindset. “I didn’t do anything different. The plan was the same: Hit it straight, hit it on the green and make putts. Luckily, it worked on that day. Simple as that,” he said.
The day, however, belonged to Andrade. Under the watchful eye and rapturous welcome from all the members and Dubai Creek’s senior management staff, Joseph struck a mighty drive into a strong right to left wind 228 yards down the left hand side to start off his captaincy in style.
Patrick Morrow guessed the exact distance of the Captain’s drive to claim a special prize.
