Miki Mirza and Paul King won the Carpetland Monthly Open held at Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club on Saturday.

The low handicappers used their skills to score a 66 – a five under par better ball nett score and take the direct route to the grand finals to be held in May.
Runners-up were the young brothers Anthony and Paul Saad with their nett 67 and by virtue of a count back of the last three holes.
Former champions Ashok Kumar and Suresh Shewakramani just missed out by one shot over the last three holes and finished in third place.
All top three pairs will now be invited back to compete at the grand final in May with now only three more qualifying events left.
Next month’s Carpetland Monthly Open is set for Saturday February 26 with a 1pm shotgun start.
Patrick Morrow won nearest the pin on the difficult eighth hole with a sweetly struck iron to seven feet.
Anthony Saad won the longest drive for the day on the 12th hole.
The lucky and very surprised raffle winner of the Carpetland Rug was Dae Seek Rha. An extra charity rug raffle has been launched this month and for future events to raise more money for charity and the lucky winner was Rumi Sarkari.
“As you are all aware we have launched our charity initiative and for every player who plays we will donate Dh100 to The Friends of Cancer Patients Charity and my father Mansour will contribute to double the total amount raised each month. It was great to see a full field this month and means we have risen from you all playing today over Dh10,000,” said Shahriar Khodjasteh, Group Marketing Director of Al Aqili Furnishings, also thanking the club, Titleist and Prosports.
