Bucomac Rocks, GHI CC notch wins in Sharjah Sixes

Bucomac Rocks scored a five-run victory over Cost Cutters CC in the inaugural Sharjah Sixes, organised by the Sharjah Cricket Council at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

Batting first, Bucomac Rocks were given a superb start with openers Haroon Iftikhar and Asim Kursheed posting 71 runs.

Both the batsmen retired scoring an identical 38 as Bucomac made 81 from the allotted five overs. Interestingly both the batsmen scored three sixes and two boundaries during their knocks.

In reply, Cost Cutters looked to be on track with Imam Ul Haq (16) and Ishan Khan (18) providing a fine start but Rehan Atta struck twice to put brakes on the chase.

Itmad Ul Haq (12) and Ahmed (14) fought hard but could muster only 66 from five overs.

In another match, GHI CC defeated Radio Mirchi Hotshots by 50 runs. GHI CC were spurred by fine knocks from Aqib Ali and Mohamed Tariq.

Ali scored 33 including four sixes and two fours, Tariq smashed 34 consisting of two sixes and four boundaries.

Shebaz Ahmed scored an unbeaten 14 not out as GHI CC hit a challenging 99 for one in five overs.

Chasing a big total, Radio Mirchi were never in contention and kept losing wickets managing only 49 for four in five overs.

Abdullah Azhar top scored with a gritty 23.
