Dubai Cricket Council (DCC) will once again be organising the Cricket for Care Under 17 Inter-Academy tournament sponsored by Shyam Bhatia from the last week of January.

Bhatia's ‘Cricket for Care Foundation’ will once again be sponsoring this competition.

It will be played on green tops of the Fair Grounds of Dubai Men’s College and will be day and day-night games of 25 overs each side with the final to be a 30-over affair.

Bhatia passion for cricket is renowned especially in the UAE which has been his 'second home' for the last 45 years.

He admits he owes the sport - which has taught him discipline fairness and commitment – a lot and pays back to the game by way of conducting local tournaments.

He also founded the Shyam Bhatia Cricket Museum, and had a book written on cricket.

But most importantly he initiated the ‘Cricket for Care’ Foundation in 2007 and has not looked back since.

The tournament has grown in stature every year and the number of teams has increased.

This year too a lot is expected from youngsters who could go on to represent their countries.
