Dubai Chess and Culture Club announced competitions and religious lectures would be held during the Holy month of Ramadan, chief among which is the Allegiance to Zayed Chess Tournament.
“The Allegiance to Zayed tournament which is organised annually will have a team competition in rapid chess (Blitz) involving the UAE clubs and companies for the first time,” said Jamal Al Abdouly, general secretary of the club.
This tournament is being held at Sheikh Saeed bin Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Hall and has attracted a large number of title holders and internationally classified UAE nationals and residents, said Al Abdouly.
The cultural activities department of the club has also organised a number of religious lectures during the Holy month, involving a group of professors and scholars.
