A total of 300 male and female runners took part in the third annual Wadi Al Helo Run, which was organised by the Sharjah Sports Council for the third year in a row. As part of effort to normalise athletic participation across age groups, the race was held in front of the historic Wadi Al Helo Castle.
Winners were crowned in the presence of Council Member Omar Hassan bin Haniyfa, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Khorfakkan Sports and Cultural Club Abdullah Mohammed Al Amiri, the club's General Secretary, and the Director of Sports and Community Events Department at the Council.
Mustafa Attia won the open men's division, and Obaid Al Hamudi won the citizens' division in the 10-kilometer event. "Gabriela Fato" was declared the victorious women's entry.
Ahmed Ali Saeed won the 5-kilometer race for citizens, and Mona Al Shehi was the top female finisher. Badin Al Jameeli won first place for men in the open category.
Ali Al Mazrouei came out on top in the boys' 1.5-kilometer race.
